To send overseas stock to Amazon FBA, confirm that the product can be sold and stored in the destination marketplace, prepare it to the active FBA shipment instructions, clear it through commercial import, and deliver it to the assigned fulfilment centre or agreed intermediate facility. These are separate steps with different documents and responsible parties.

This guide is for sellers buying commercial inventory from the USA, UK, Germany, Spain, South Korea, Japan or India for FBA in the UAE, Saudi Arabia or Australia. The international shipment brings your stock into the destination country; after Amazon accepts eligible units into FBA, Amazon stores them and fulfils customer orders. It is not an individual overseas shipment for each sale.

ShipaX can review the proposed route, goods and receiving plan for a quote. Any supplier collection, FBA preparation, customs coordination or direct delivery to an Amazon facility must be confirmed in the agreed scope. Explore International Shipping for Amazon FBA Sellers.

A carrier's delivery scan proves neither customs clearance nor Amazon's acceptance of every unit. Keep evidence from each stage separately.

1. Buy Stock That Can Be Imported and Sent to FBA

Before ordering, check the product in the destination Amazon seller account. A product may be suitable for sale but require approval for a brand or category, or have additional FBA storage and preparation conditions. Confirm the exact ASIN, seller SKU, quantity, condition, expiry information and any market-specific listing requirement.

Ask the supplier for the legal seller's details, the physical stock address, a commercial invoice, finished SKU descriptions, quantities, values, country-of-manufacture information and carton data. For branded resale, keep evidence of the purchase and any authorisation needed for your channel. Buying from a supplier in one country does not prove the product was made there.

Some goods need two distinct checks: permission to import them and permission to ship or store them through FBA. Beauty products, supplements, perfumes and battery-powered items may trigger label, regulatory, shelf-life or dangerous-goods review. Do not assume a product is eligible because another seller has a similar listing. Explore Products for Commercial Resale.

Agree the supplier's ready date, packaging, handover address and trade term before paying. If a third party will prepare the units, confirm where that work happens and who pays for the extra domestic movement.

2. Create the FBA Shipment and Prepare the Units

Use the Seller Central account for the destination marketplace to confirm that the SKUs are set up for FBA and to create the active stock shipment. The workflow determines which products and quantities are being sent, the ship-from address, box information, shipment references, labels and assigned fulfilment centre or centres. Do not choose a facility address from an old shipment or an online list.

Follow the barcode method shown for each SKU. If an Amazon barcode label is required, agree who prints and applies it. Do not assume every unit needs an FNSKU sticker; a valid manufacturer-barcode workflow may apply to an eligible product. Check the current instructions for sets, liquids, fragile goods, expiry-dated products and batteries.

Preparation CheckWhat the Seller Should Confirm
Unit identityThe physical variant, condition, barcode and listing match.
Unit preparationAny required bagging, sealing, protective wrap, warning or bundle treatment is completed.
Box contentsThe units in each finished box match the submitted box information.
Box and pallet labelsLabels generated for this active shipment are applied to the matching boxes or pallets.
Weight and dimensionsFinal packed measurements are available to the carrier and match the shipment record.
Final handoverThe assigned facility, delivery method and any appointment are confirmed.

If the supplier will prepare goods at origin, send the current seller-generated instructions and check samples of the finished units and cartons before release. If preparation happens after import, agree who receives the goods, performs the work and creates the final box map. A ShipaX quote should identify FBA preparation or labelling only when that work is actually offered. Explore Amazon FBA Preparation and Labelling.

3. Assign the Exporter, Importer and Customs Process

The party exporting the goods from the source country and the party importing them into the destination country must be identified before dispatch. The importer of record is responsible for the destination declaration and applicable duties, taxes and regulatory requirements, whether it files directly or appoints a broker.

Amazon is the fulfilment-centre receiver, not the importer of record for your FBA stock. Amazon's international FBA guidance says sellers must arrange the importer role and that Amazon will not pay customs duties and taxes on inbound FBA inventory. It also says inventory arriving at a fulfilment centre with collect charges may be refused. Confirm the applicable destination Seller Central policy and arrange clearance and payment before a direct Amazon handover.

At minimum, align the supplier's commercial invoice, final packing list, transport document, exporter and importer details, FBA shipment reference and destination receiving instructions. Add origin proof, product approvals or dangerous-goods documents where the actual goods and route require them. Amazon box labels do not replace customs paperwork. See the Business Shipment Document Checklist.

Do not use Amazon's name as the commercial buyer or customs importer merely because its facility is the final delivery address. Ask the importer and broker how the deliver-to facility should appear on the transport and customs records.

4. Choose the Actual Handover Point

There are several possible ways to complete the movement. The right one depends on the product, import arrangement, supplier readiness and delivery capability.

Handover ModelWhat to Confirm
Direct to the assigned Amazon facilityImport clearance and charges are completed, the active FBA shipment and labels match the cargo, and the booked provider can meet the receiving rules.
Via a preparation facilityA named provider can receive, count, prepare and label the imported stock before booking a separate Amazon delivery.
Via the seller's warehouseThe seller receives and reconciles the import, then creates or completes a local FBA transfer using the current shipment instructions.

The quote should name the exact endpoint. A destination-country shipping quote does not automatically include the final Amazon appointment, pallet preparation, waiting time, re-delivery or refusal handling. Likewise, Amazon's domestic partnered-carrier options do not establish an international service from every buying country. Explore Marketplace Fulfilment-Centre Delivery.

Destination Instructions to Check

Amazon FBA in the UAE

For Amazon.ae FBA, Amazon's UAE FBA guide tells sellers to create listings, identify FBA inventory, prepare products to its packing and routing requirements, create the shipping plan, print shipment ID labels and book a delivery appointment through Carrier Central before sending stock to the confirmed fulfilment centre.

Separately, identify the importer and the emirate and entry point for the commercial import. The importer or broker must confirm customs documents and any approval required for the exact products. Dubai Customs lists an invoice, packing list, certificate of origin and restricted-goods permit where applicable for its declaration service. Do not send goods to a fulfilment centre with an unresolved customs charge or without the active Amazon receiving details. Explore Amazon FBA Shipping to the UAE · Explore Commercial Import Shipping to the UAE.

Amazon FBA in Saudi Arabia

Amazon's Saudi FBA guide directs sellers to set up FBA listings, follow its preparation and routing rules, create the shipping plan, print shipment ID labels and book an appointment in Carrier Central before facility delivery.

The Saudi importer and broker should check the product's import conditions and declaration requirements before the stock leaves the supplier. ZATCA lists a commercial invoice and bill of lading among its initial documents and requires additional information or approvals for certain goods. Confirm the importing entity, accepted products and final delivery arrangement for the active Amazon.sa shipment. Explore Amazon FBA Shipping to Saudi Arabia · Explore Commercial Import Shipping to Saudi Arabia.

Amazon FBA in Australia

Amazon Australia's FBA guide says sellers create a shipping plan showing products, quantities, delivery details and who prepares and labels the goods. It notes that the assigned fulfilment centre depends on the specific plan; eligible sellers may also have domestic partnered-carrier options from Australian pickup locations.

For overseas goods, establish the Australian importer and broker, complete the appropriate customs entry and check the product's regulatory and biosecurity conditions before arranging local FBA delivery. Amazon's Global Selling guide expressly says Amazon will not act as importer of record for FBA inventory. Check BICON where relevant to the goods. Explore Amazon FBA Shipping to Australia · Explore Commercial Import Shipping to Australia.

Compare Every Cost Line

The unit purchase price and the FBA fee estimate do not cover the whole overseas stock movement. Build a landed-inventory plan before setting the marketplace selling price.

Use Seller Central for the current FBA fee estimates in the destination marketplace. Ask ShipaX for an itemised shipment quote stating which transport, customs-coordination, preparation and final-delivery items are included. Explore Business Shipping Costs.

Plan time in stages as well: supplier readiness; any product approval; export; international transit; destination clearance; local transfer; Amazon booking and receiving. Do not treat a carrier's estimated transit time as a promise that the units will be available for sale on that date.

Check Receipt and Plan Replenishment

After handover, compare the carrier's delivery evidence with the shipment and inventory status in Seller Central. Amazon may receive, count and inspect stock before every unit becomes saleable. Investigate damaged, missing, rejected or stranded inventory through the applicable seller workflow.

For repeat shipments, keep a reusable SKU file with the supplier invoice format, product information, barcode method, carton mapping and importer details. Refresh the Seller Central shipment, assigned facility, labels and booking for each replenishment. An older shipment's labels or address should not be reused as a standing instruction.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can my supplier ship directly to an Amazon fulfilment centre?

Potentially, if the goods are eligible, the supplier can follow the active FBA preparation and labelling instructions, the import is arranged under an eligible importer, and a provider can complete the required facility delivery. Confirm each responsibility before the supplier releases stock.

Will Amazon clear my overseas inventory through customs?

Do not assume so. Amazon states that its fulfilment centres do not act as importer of record for FBA inventory and do not pay the shipment's outstanding duties or taxes. Establish the importer and broker before dispatch.

Does every unit need an FNSKU sticker?

No universal rule covers every SKU. Use the barcode method shown for that product and seller account in the destination marketplace. If an Amazon barcode is required, confirm who prints and applies the label and checks the finished units.

Can I send one shipment to any Amazon warehouse in the country?

No. Create the active FBA shipment and use its assigned facility or facilities and receiving instructions. Do not address imported cartons to a warehouse chosen from an old shipment or a public list.

Are an Amazon shipment label and a commercial invoice the same thing?

No. The shipment label identifies cargo for Amazon's receiving workflow. The supplier's commercial invoice and other applicable records support the export, transport and import of the goods.

Can ShipaX prepare FBA units and book the delivery appointment?

Those tasks must be specifically available and included in the agreed quote. The seller supplies the current Seller Central instructions and remains responsible for the listing, shipment creation and any approvals assigned to the seller.

When does my stock become ready for sale?

After the import and facility handover, check Seller Central for the actual received and saleable inventory status. Delivery to the building alone does not establish that all units have been accepted.
